Counselling

Life can throw up so many challenges, and it may be that you are currently feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stressed, and alone with the weight of this experience. Whatever struggles you are facing, I am here to listen, and to support you. Considering therapy can be daunting, but you are taking the first step by exploring therapists and reaching out.

Transactional analysis, the focus of my training, offers clients practical tools to understand themselves, situations, and others better; this engenders greater confidence, self-awareness and more honest and fulfilling relationships. As an integrative counsellor, I also draw on ideas from other therapeutic models including Gestalt, Humanistic and CBT.

Who I work with

I work with both individuals and couples on a wide range of issues, but particular areas of expertise include:

  • anxiety, social anxiety and low self-esteem

  • relationship, family and attachment issues

  • life transitions including leaving home, midlife and menopause, divorce and retirement

  • impact of redundancy or career changes

  • early life beliefs or ‘script’

  • loss and bereavement

What to expect in sessions

Sessions are face-to-face or online, beginning with a 30 minute free phone consultation. This enables you to tell me a little about yourself, to see how I work, and to get a flavour of what sessions would be like. There is no obligation to commence sessions if you feel the fit is not right. Getting the right counsellor is so important, as the therapeutic relationship is integral to the success of the work.

Subsequent weekly sessions begin to unpack your story, exploring it’s many diverse paths, and the work of change begins. Our sessions will enable you to reclaim your story, strengthening your connection to your sense of self.
