Counselling

Life can present great challenges. Perhaps you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious and alone with the weight of this experience. Whatever struggles you are facing, I am here to offer an empathic space to explore your reality.

Transactional analysis, the focus of my training, offers you practical tools to understand yourself, situations, and others more fully. As an integrative counsellor, I also draw on ideas from other therapeutic models, including Gestalt, Humanistic and CBT.

Who I work with

I work with both individuals and couples on a wide range of issues, but particular areas of expertise include:

  • anxiety, social anxiety and low self-esteem

  • relationship, family and attachment issues

  • life transitions including leaving home, midlife and menopause, divorce and retirement

  • impact of redundancy or career changes

  • loss and bereavement

What to expect in sessions

Sessions are face-to-face or online, beginning with a free initial consultation. This enables you to tell me a little about yourself and to get a flavour of what sessions would be like. There is no obligation to commence sessions if you feel the fit is not right. Finding the right counsellor is so important, as the therapeutic relationship is integral to the success of the work.

Subsequent weekly sessions offer a warm, empathic space enabling you to make meaning of your experience.

Qualifications

I am an accredited member of the NCPS and hold a Level 6 Diploma in Counselling, specifically in Transactional Analysis (TA). I am also a qualified Couples and Relationship counsellor.

I am currently training to be a UKCP registered psychotherapist (qualification expected 2027).

Other qualifications: BA (Hons), PGCE, GBSM, ABSM.

I am a classical pianist and performance coach, and enjoy utilising creative techniques in sessions
