Counselling
Life can throw up so many challenges, and it may be that you are currently feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stressed, and alone with the weight of this experience. Whatever struggles you are facing, I am here to listen, and to support you.
Transactional analysis, the focus of my training, offers clients practical tools to understand themselves, situations, and others better; this engenders greater confidence, self-awareness and more honest and fulfilling relationships. As an integrative counsellor, I also draw on ideas from other therapeutic models including Gestalt, Humanistic and CBT.
Who I work with
I work with both individuals and couples on a wide range of issues, but particular areas of expertise include:
anxiety, social anxiety and low self-esteem
relationship, family and attachment issues
life transitions including leaving home, midlife and menopause, divorce and retirement
impact of redundancy or career changes
early life beliefs or ‘script’
loss and bereavement
What to expect in sessions
Sessions are face-to-face or online, beginning with a free initial consultation, either via Zoom or phone. This enables you to tell me a little about yourself, to see how I work, and to get a flavour of what sessions would be like. There is no obligation to commence sessions if you feel the fit is not right. Getting the right counsellor is so important, as the therapeutic relationship is integral to the success of the work.
Subsequent weekly sessions enable you to reclaim your story, strengthening your connection to your sense of self.
Qualifications
I am an accredited member of the NCPS and hold a Level 6 Diploma in Counselling, specifically in Transactional Analysis (TA).
I am also a .B Mindfulness practitioner.
Other qualifications: BA (Hons), PGCE, GBSM, ABSM.
